Entry-Level Production Utility Support

Perma-Pipe is hiring an Entry-Level Production Labor/Utility Worker Team Member!

Position is in Lebanon, Tennessee

We’re looking for a dependable and motivated Entry-Level Production Helper/Utility Worker team member to assist in a variety of essential production tasks within our fabrication shop. The Production Helper / Utility Worker is needed to support our fabrication shop operations. The ideal candidate will assist in various stages of the manufacturing process, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in day‑to‑day tasks. This position requires physical stamina, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.

This role supports higher‑skilled tradespeople such as welders and fitters, contributes to material preparation, and ensures cleanliness and efficiency in key work areas. This is a physically demanding position that requires flexibility, attention to detail, and strong adherence to safety practices, especially when working in dusty or temperature‑variable environments.

  6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., with potential daily overtime until 4:40 p.m., plus occasional Saturday shifts as needed.

• Assist fabricators and machine operators with daily production tasks.
• Move materials and products within the shop using hand tools or material handling equipment.
• Perform general shop duties including cleaning, organizing workstations, and removing scrap.
• Support basic fabrication tasks including measuring, cutting, grinding, or deburring parts.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints and work orders to support production accuracy.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Monitor equipment for proper operation and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, complying with all company safety standards.

• Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Basic math skills, including measurement conversions.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to shop safety protocols.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

• Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring equipment.

• Lift/carry: sedentary up to 10 lbs; light up to 20 lbs; medium up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Raise/lower or move objects horizontally.
• Remain on feet for extended periods of time.
• Frequent wrist/hand motions.
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• Must move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
• Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
• Ability to work in extreme weather.

• Active industrial shop with exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and heavy machinery.
• Frequent use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks as required.

• High school diploma or GED required.
