POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Press Supervisor – 2nd Shift is a critical leadership role within the Operations team at AUTOKINITON's Lebanon, TN facility. This position is responsible for overseeing all press operations during the 2nd shift, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. Reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor and Manager, the Press Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for all press department personnel during the shift and plays a key role in driving operational excellence across the production floor.

This is a full-time, hourly supervisory role that requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in stamping press operations, team management, and continuous improvement methodologies. The ideal candidate will bring 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive industry, and will demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and direct all press department associates during the 2nd shift, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. Monitor press operations to ensure equipment is running efficiently and at optimal capacity, coordinating with maintenance personnel to address any mechanical issues or downtime promptly. Conduct daily shift start-up meetings to communicate production goals, safety topics, and quality expectations to all team members.

Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, conducting regular safety audits and ensuring all associates are trained and compliant with safety procedures. Oversee the setup, changeover, and operation of stamping presses, ensuring proper tooling, die setup, and material handling procedures are followed. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including production output, scrap rates, downtime, and labor efficiency, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify and resolve quality issues, implementing root cause analysis and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence. Manage associate performance through coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Coordinate with the 1st shift supervisor to ensure smooth shift transitions, accurate handoff of production status, and continuity of operations. Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, participating in kaizen events and process improvement projects.
