The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizes therapeutic communication, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, identifies nursing problems, and plans individualized patient care while leveraging an interdisciplinary approach. When in a charge nurse role, you are responsible for day‑to‑day activities ensuring quality patient care, making staff assignments based on acuity and skill, serving as a role model, and responding promptly to information requests.
Responsibilities- Responsible for specialized cardiac tests performed on adult and pediatric patients.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Record patients’ medical information, vital signs, and other patient care data.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee.
- Additional courses in physiology, hemodynamic monitoring, and EKG interpretation.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a Critical Care staff nurse.
- Experience in intensive care nursing (ICU/ER).
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
