Position Summary
Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at Tri Star Centennial Medical Center. This role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality patient care through pre‑ and postoperative support, surgical site verification, and interdisciplinary collaboration. You will work with surgeons, technologists, and charge nurses to optimize patient safety and workflow.
Responsibilities- Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
- Provide patient and family education regarding the procedure and peri‑operative process.
- Prepare patients, including IV therapy, pre‑operative medications, and surgical site verification.
- Participate in surgical site verification procedures (briefing, time‑out, debriefing, protocols).
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while managing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate as an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
- Apply nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to provide safe nursing care independently.
- Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes and care provided thoroughly.
- Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (RN).
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or Associate degree.
- At least 1 year of ICU experience required; cardiac experience highly preferred.
- Comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, behavioral health, and telemedicine coverage.
