The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizing therapeutic communication, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, and planning individualized patient care with an interdisciplinary approach. The RN participates in performance improvement activities and coordinates patient care that furthers the hospital’s mission and vision.

• Assess patient care plans, evaluate needs, and carry out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care‑planning team.

• Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
• Preferably one year of clinical nursing experience.
