About the Role

The Flight Nurse provides high‑standard clinical care in emergency and critical care transport, working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient patient outcomes.

• Acquire and maintain skill sets in all aspects of emergency and critical care transport medicine.
• Maintain practical knowledge of applicable FAA and DOT standards for the medical transport environment.
• Participate in transport briefings and debriefings, and crew resource management activities with the team.
• Engage in internal and external education programs and public relations functions.
• Maintain a constant “Ready to Respond” culture.
• Ensure compliance with all licenses, certifications, immunizations, and education requirements.
• Participate in quality management programs and maintain regulatory readiness.
• Demonstrate competency in all training, including advanced skills and procedures approved by the Medical Director, protocol testing, case reviews, and new equipment or procedure training.
• Develop and maintain rapport with health system staff, physicians, and leaders; exhibit professionalism and a respectful demeanor at all times.
• Co‑coach or pre‑cept new employees as a clinical coach or preceptor.
• Participate in safety, education, quality, and outreach workgroup activities.
• Show excellent stewardship of overtime, medical supplies, operational items, and complete transport/billing paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Display professional clinical and operational flexibility with task demands related to air and ground vehicles.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support qualification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support qualification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Neonate Resuscitation qualification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) credential required.
• Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) qualification must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.
• Driver’s License (DL) required.
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Prehospital Trauma Life Support, or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in ICU; preferred 3+ years.
• Preferred: 1+ year of paramedic/EMT experience.
