Position SummaryThe Senior Sales & Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth at Novamet Specialty Products Corporation through strategic account development, new customer acquisition, and expansion of existing relationships. This role blends hands‑on technical sales with forward‑looking business development to support Novamet’s advanced metal powder solutions across markets, including powder metallurgy, additive manufacturing, thermal spray, MIM, and specialty industrial applications.
This position requires a consultative, technically fluent sales professional who can partner closely with engineering, metallurgy, and operations to deliver high‑value solutions and build long‑term customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Strategic Growth- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities aligned with Novamet’s product capabilities and growth objectives.
- Build and execute strategic account plans to expand revenue with existing customers.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting to leadership.
- Evaluate new markets, applications, and partnerships to support long‑term company expansion.
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned customers, ensuring strong engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
- Lead customer meetings, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, contracts, and pricing strategies in collaboration with internal teams.
- Negotiate commercial terms while maintaining margin and profitability targets.
- Work closely with Novamet’s metallurgists, R&D, and production teams to translate customer requirements into manufacturable solutions.
- Support sampling, trials, qualifications, and new product introductions.
- Communicate customer feedback internally to guide continuous improvement and product development.
- Monitor customer trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies within metal powders and advanced materials.
- Represent Novamet at trade shows, conferences, and customer sites.
- Provide leadership with regular updates on market conditions, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Business, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- 7+ years of progressive sales and/or business development experience in metal powders, materials manufacturing, or related industrial markets.
- Proven success selling technical products in B2B environments.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Willingness to travel (typically 2540%).
- Experience with powder metallurgy, additive manufacturing, MIM, thermal spray, or specialty materials.
- Technical background or hands‑on experience with metal powder production or applications.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs, contractors, or government supply chains, including familiarity with compliance, documentation, and qualification processes.
