Must be available to work assigned shifts and occasional extended, evening, weekend, or on-call hours based on facility needs.

Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at‑risk youth. Lebanon Youth Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee offers an 18‑bed trauma‑informed Youth Academy for boys ages
12 to17. Serving youth needing structured treatment and emotional support, the center combines individual, family, and group therapy with academic programming, restorative justice, life skills training, and social skill development.

Youth typically remain for 3 to6months, engaging in victim‑impact awareness, pre‑vocational preparation, and family involvement. Programming is conducted in small group living units to support reintegration into home and community settings.

About the Role

The Residential Shift Supervisor oversees facility operations and supervises assigned personnel during the designated shift. This position provides leadership and direction to employees, coordinates daily responsibilities, ensures policies and procedures are followed, and supports a safe, structured, and consistent environment for youth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned personnel by making and monitoring work assignments, evaluating performance, providing training and corrective instruction, and conducting individual or group meetings as needed.
  • Maintain communication with facility leadership regarding employee attendance, behavior, performance, and interactions with coworkers and youth.
  • Assist with developing work schedules, distributing responsibilities, and arranging additional personnel when needed to maintain effective facility operations.
  • Coordinate youth appointments and transportation as needed.
  • Assist with admission and discharge procedures, including receiving and releasing personal property, conducting required searches, and completing necessary documentation.
  • Work cooperatively with other facility employees to share relevant information regarding youth behavior, supervision, needs, and services.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, facility procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable state rules and regulations.
  • Conduct and oversee required safety checks, room searches, and scheduled searches for prohibited items.
  • Monitor electronic door locks, security communication devices, youth activities, and approved visitations.
  • Ensure the facility’s behavior-management system is implemented consistently and appropriately.
  • Review disciplinary actions involving youth, address grievances, and assist with resolving complaints as needed.
  • Review and investigate reports involving physical interventions, restraints, uses of force, and other unusual incidents.
  • Administer medication when properly trained and authorized and maintain complete and accurate medication documentation.
  • Regularly inspect housing units and program areas, identify concerns, and take appropriate corrective action.
