Shipping Specialist
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for moving and locating incoming components from Permobil suppliers from Receiving into the warehouse. Using tools such as bar‑code scanners and personal computers, the associate ensures that incoming components are placed into locations in the warehouse and specifies the location to the warehouse tracking system. This role will also work closely with the Production, Warehouse, and Receiving Supervisors, requiring teamwork and collaboration with these and other groups, as well as adherence to all safety practices and company policies.
KeyTasks
- Order Picking: Accurately pick items from inventory based on order specifications using RF scanners or pick lists. Verify product codes, quantities, and quality before packing.
- Packing and Shipping: Pack items securely and efficiently to prevent damage during transit. Label packages correctly and prepare them for shipment using shipping software. Coordinate with carriers and ensure timely dispatch of orders.
- Inventory Management: Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits. Report discrepancies or damaged goods to supervisors.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous warehouse or shipping experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer and scanning device skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with adaptive technology, mobility equipment, or medical device standards desired.
- Leadership skills: proven ability to work in a team environment with other groups as necessary.
- Other skills: strong problem‑solving ability, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
