Under the direction and supervision of the Shift Sergeant or the senior most officer acting in that capacity, the incumbent performs general police duties, enforcing Tribal, Federal, and State laws and ordinances, often under emergency situations.

• Traffic enforcement
• Detection and reporting of hazardous conditions
• Community policing programs
• Detecting criminal activities and investigating reports of crimes
• Arresting criminal offenders and processing reports and court documents
• Receiving and serving court orders and executing search and arrest warrants applied for or ordered by the Tribal Court
• Other special details and events as needed

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED required; post‑secondary credits or a degree in law enforcement or related field beneficial
• Valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License
• CPR/First Aid Certified
• CT POST certification preferred, with ability to obtain CT POST, BIA, and SLEC certifications within one year of hire
• Ability to acquire working knowledge of Tribal, Federal and State laws, tribal ordinances, motor vehicle laws, traffic control, modern law‑enforcement techniques, crime investigations, and record observations accurately
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies, execute duties firmly, tactfully, courteously, and impartially
• Training required in use and care of firearms, operation of emergency vehicles, use of communications and first‑responder equipment

• Paid weekly on Fridays
• Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays
• OT given out on a rotation list as well as order‑ins
• Supply of uniforms and gear; dry cleaning of uniforms is free; free meals on all shifts; free tailoring if needed
• All full‑time officers receive a department‑issued rifle
• Indoor range qualification twice per year
• Foxwoods security handles all escorts and/or ejections
• K‑9 bomb dogs, company car, built‑in OT, training
