IT’SUGAR is looking for a fun and dynamic Retail Assistant Store Manager to join our team. The Assistant Store Manager will oversee the retail store operations to ensure sales goals and operational objectives are met.
What you’ll do?
Act as Manager on Duty, Recruit Great Talent, Achieve Sales Goals, Support Store Operations, and Embody our Core Values.
Manager on Duty- Oversee the daily operation of the store and ensure sales objectives are met.
- Evaluate daily operations and recommend actions to enhance productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.
- Hold self and staff accountable for the achievement of sales goals and metrics.
- Foster a productive work environment through consistent coaching and training of Sales Associates.
- Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, and brand‑proud attitude representative of our core values.
- Follow the customer engagement model, SUGARTAINMENT.
- Promote safety for both customers and associates by adhering to company guidelines.
- Partner with the store manager to identify ongoing challenges and present solutions.
- Proactively network and recruit qualified candidates for all positions, ensuring proper backfill.
- Assist the Store Manager in selecting, training, and coaching Associates and Supervisors, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
- Follow through on customer requests for specific items and suggest additional products.
- Use selling skills to explain benefits, features, prices, quality, value, and other product information.
- Establish a collaborative selling culture in the store and ensure Associates and Supervisors are trained in all IT’SUGAR selling programs.
- Maintain store cash handling records, reports, and opening/closing procedures.
- Review merchandise orders and inventory levels for accuracy and consistency.
- Merchandise and ensure displays meet visual guidelines.
- Capture information on retail customers to enhance sales and maintain the store’s client file.
- Plan, coordinate, and set up special events and promotions.
- Maintain communication with associates regarding product recommendations to increase sales/inventory.
- Understand all Loss Prevention policies and procedures and communicate issues with the Store Manager.
- Perform operational responsibilities, including sales floor, backroom, restroom maintenance, cleaning, and mopping.

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of retail experience preferred.
- Prior sales and management experience in a retail environment preferred.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to use a POS/cash register.
- Ability to stand, walk, and handle items for long periods; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
- Able to lift/move up to 25 lbs. independently and up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Must be able to work alone or with minimal supervision.
