Leeds Trinity University is a values‑led public university with campuses in Leeds City Centre and Horsforth, combining a strong heritage in teacher training with a modern, professionally focused academic offering. With over 12,500 students and a deep commitment to widening participation, inclusion and employability, LTU delivers student‑centred education that transforms lives and communities. Highly ranked for teaching quality and student experience, the University is entering an exciting phase of strategic development and growth.
We are now seeking to appoint new Governors to join our Board. As members of the Board of Governors and charity Trustees, you will play a vital role in shaping the University’s future—providing strategic oversight, supporting senior leadership and ensuring robust governance across all areas of activity. You will help safeguard LTU’s mission and values, oversee financial sustainability and performance, and contribute independent, constructive challenge in a complex higher education environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced senior leaders from sectors such as higher or further education, regulated industries, commercial, finance, digital, media or legal, who bring strong judgement, strategic thinking and a commitment to inclusive, values‑led leadership.
Governors are expected to attend Board and Committee meetings in person in Leeds, alongside occasional wider engagement with the University. Applicants should therefore be UK‑based and willing to travel.
Leeds Trinity University values diversity and inclusion and particularly encourages applications from the following groups as they are currently under‑represented within the University:
Women, LGBTQ+ and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic applicants, as well as candidates with disabilities, whether hidden or otherwise. The University will consider all forms of flexible working arrangements.
