Position: Primary Maths Specialist (Maternity Cover)

Primary Maths Specialist

12-month fixed term contract (October 2026 to End of October 2027 with a potential view to extension based on business need)

£40,000 to £55,000 (full time equivalent) dependent on experience

This is a hybrid role which includes working at the White Rose Education offices in Halifax&Leeds. Two days a week in the office (minimum), with flexibility for more if needed.

It is a full time position, working all-year-round.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen working in our specialist maths team. We are now looking for a creative, self-motivated, dynamic, passionate and driven individual who literally wants to help us take on the world!

Working as a Primary Maths Specialist the core purpose of your role will be:

  • To produce high quality materials that support the White Rose Maths curriculum.
  • To support the teaching of maths in primary provision through high quality, effective CPD and working with primary school leaders.
  • To work with individual teachers to improve their performance.
  • To work with school leaders to audit requirements, provision and plan for improvements.
  • To support and advise primary schools with effective implementation of the White Rose Maths curriculum.
  • To support any other reasonable request, working with other partners as appropriate.

To be considered for this role you must hold QTS, must have passed your ECT, and must be able to evidence effective teaching and performance within your area of specialism (Primary Maths). Experience of subject leadership in a teaching environment is desirable.

The purpose of the role:

  • To support the White Rose Maths vision of making every teacher of maths a world class teacher of maths.
  • To support the teaching and learning of maths at the primary phase through high quality, effective CPD.
  • To support and advise primary schools and teachers with effective implementation of the White Rose Maths curriculum.
  • To produce high quality materials that support the White Rose Maths curriculum.

Key accountabilities:

  • To contribute towards the development of the White Rose Maths curriculum and supporting resources.
  • Design, develop and deliver inspiring and innovative CPD programmes in line with our values and teaching principles.
  • To assist in the implementation of the White Rose Maths curriculum by providing specialist guidance and support.
  • To role model and demonstrate outstanding teaching and learning.
  • To deliver school improvement programmes as appropriate. Examples include providing coaching and mentoring support, target setting, conducting observations, participating in learning walks, undertaking maths audits.
  • To actively monitor and maintain up to date knowledge of relevant education policy, developments, research and initiatives. To support the development and enhancement of maths in primary provision across Trinity Multi Academy Trust and other clients, through working with individuals and school leaders.
  • To actively participate in performance management review(s).
