Civil Engineer – Leeds

We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Civil Engineer to join our design team in Leeds as part of a multi‑disciplinary department providing detailed designs for water related projects in the UK. This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.
Our Leeds office is relocating to Leeds City Centre mid‑2026.

What does the role involve?Working within our water team on multi‑disciplinary projects you will act as a Design Engineer and undertake the delivery of design solutions and associated outputs and the co‑ordination with other disciplines.
You will be involved in projects from conception to completion including:
- Support team members to clarify the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy.
- Undertake elements of the detailed design as directed: e.g. calculations, drawings, sketches and reports to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
- Assess, document and communicate design changes to team members and be aware of work requirements and take personal responsibility in delivering this to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
- Attend close‑out meetings and recommend/implement improvements to policy, processes and project management methods.
- A relevant degree and be working towards or plan to work towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution e.g. ICE or CIWEM.
- Strong interpersonal/team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors together with the ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner both verbally and written.
- Knowledge and experience of water and wastewater design including an understanding of the basics and the integration of multidisciplinary elements including process engineering and MEICA.
- Experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment and contract administration.
