We are seeking an experienced Associate Director for Planning & Scheduling to join our busy and expanding infrastructure team, undertaking a range of Controls & Performance duties on several high‑profile Infrastructure and Defence Projects/Programmes.
This role is predominantly based in the North with some regional travel required and is open to applicants based across Yorkshire, Northwest, Northeast and Scotland.
Key Responsibilities- Managing and delegating activities of the Planning and Scheduling team on complex projects or programmes.
- Communicating with Senior Management and stakeholders to deliver updates.
- Briefing the team on the project scope to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood.
- Developing and maintaining leadership relationships with interfacing disciplines.
- Line management activities including career development and performance management.
- Continuous improvement in Planning and Scheduling (and interfacing project controls) processes to create efficiency and increase benefits for clients.
- Implementing, embedding and rolling out any identified changes to Planning and Scheduling processes.
- Managing the benefits and requirements of Planning and Scheduling within the project and programme team.
- Providing subject matter expertise.
- Delivering expert analysis to relevant stakeholders and senior management, supporting effective decision‑making.
- Training and coaching clients and less experienced team members on Planning and Scheduling processes and practices.
- Supporting T&T’s recruitment activities to grow and develop the project controls capability.
- Engaging with the national and regional Planning and Scheduling communities, including Community of Practice.
- Anticipate future challenges and opportunities for clients, with a deep understanding of stakeholder needs.
- Set high standards and manage performance to ensure continuous improvement.
- Promote teamwork, encourage mutual support, forge strong relationships and foster collaboration.
- Strengthen leadership skills, build industry knowledge, and influence to build a better world.
- Coach and mentor others to progress in their careers and encourage managers to focus on staff development.
- Create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive, secure well‑being and safety, and challenge unacceptable behaviour.
- Experience in Planning and Scheduling on complex projects/programmes is essential.
- Experience of interfacing with other Project Controls disciplines is essential.
- Experience in leading Planning and Scheduling teams is essential.
- Practical experience of Planning and Scheduling, demonstrating the use of more than one standard scheduling tool is essential.
- Ability to work in both delivery and transformation projects is desirable.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable.
- For Defence specific requirements, sole UK National status and current or ability to obtain SC Clearance is required.
