Position: Maintenance Journeyman (3rd Shift) - Leeds, AL

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair AC & DC Motors and Control Circuits
  • Read/Interpret Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Instrumentation Drawings, Schematics, and Technical Manuals
  • Install, Troubleshoot, Maintain and Repair PLC and/or DCS Hardware, Software and Controls
  • Maintain 480/240 Volt 3 phase MCC and Power Distribution Systems
  • Replace Electrical Control Devices (Limit, Proximity and Photo Switches, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves, etc.)
  • Move and set up equipment as needed
  • Wire equipment and electrical drops within a high voltage area
  • Install and repair electrical, mechanical and pneumatic industrial equipment
Qualifications
  • Must have 5+ years industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Education:

    Associate’s Degree, trade or technical school diploma and/or journeyman’s card in related trade.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Good math skills to add, subtract, multiply, use decimals and fractions.
  • Mechanical Aptitude/Reasoning Ability:
    Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve equipment operation issues.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Able to communicate in English for written and verbal communication, including listening, speaking and interpreting documents.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Basic computer skills to look up work orders and interact with programs.
  • Experience with measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers, calipers, etc.) preferred.
  • Prepared to work overtime and odd hours to handle emergencies that threaten production or safety.
  • Detail oriented and able to work independently.
  • Ability to properly use hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, alignment equipment, measuring devices and testing equipment.
  • Ability to utilize catalogs and vendor contacts to research and requisition parts and materials as needed.
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
