Hotel Receptionist
Barnett Hill Hotel, Blackheath Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU5 0RF
£22,308 per annum + monthly service charge payment- 35 hrs per week working 5 days per week including weekend shifts (early and late starts)

Barnett Hill Hotel is a member of the Alexander Hotels family and joined the Group in September 2016. Built in 1905, the Queen Anne style property sits within 26 acres of gardens and woodlands in the Surrey Hill area. The hotel has recently undergone refurbishment, boasts 56 bedrooms, four AA stars and two Rosettes for dining.
The RoleA smart, friendly, well‑organised, guest‑service‑focused individual who brings a five‑star smile and a warm, welcoming personality to our reception team. You will be the first and last point of contact for guests, driving satisfaction through every interaction.
- Welcoming arriving guests
- Guest check‑in and rooming
- Handling enquiries in person and by phone
- Posting charges and processing guest billing
- Taking bedroom reservations
- Producing a daily Activity Report for all internal departments
- Upselling facilities and rooms
- Organising porter service where needed
- Balancing shifts and completing end‑of‑day procedures
- Excellent personal appearance
- Excellent communicator in person and on the telephone
- Warm and friendly disposition
- Genuine desire to serve guests
- Organised with keen attention to detail
- Accurate data entry and computer skills
- Own transport required due to rural location and shift work
