Maintenance Fitter – RDF Waste Recycling Plant

Location:

Stourton - LS10 area
Pay Rate:£18.00 – £20.00 per hour (DOE)
Shift Pattern:12-hour shifts – 6am–6pm or 6pm–6am (24/7 site operation, flexibility required)
Overtime:
1.5x after 45 hours

We are recruiting experienced

Maintenance Fittsto join a busy RDF waste recycling plant in LS10. This is a hands-on position within a fast-paced industrial environment where minimizing downtime and maintaining operational efficiency is critical.

• Reactive maintenance and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
• Rapid fault finding and breakdown repairs
• Changing bearings and stripping/rebuilding gearboxes
• Mechanical maintenance on conveyors, shredders and associated plant
• Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Working at height and in confined spaces when required
• Following strict Permit-to-Work and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures
• Maintaining high Health & Safety standards at all times

• Picking lines & conveyor systems
• Shredders, balers, hoppers & compactors
• 360 grabs & fixed plant machinery
• Loading shovels, forklifts, telehandlers & site vehicles

• Proven experience in industrial/mechanical maintenance
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
• Experience changing bearings and overhauling gearboxes
• Confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics & around live electrical systems
• NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Maintenance Engineering preferred
• Multi-site experience desirable
