Senior Shift Engineer (Mechanical) – Leeds Oncology contract in Leeds. This is a permanent full‑time position working a 4‑day shift on/4‑day off rota (06:00‑18:00 day, 18:00‑06:00 night). Competitive salary and benefits package offered.
Responsibilities- Lead and support the shift team, including Maintenance Craftsman and Maintenance Assistants.
- Carry out maintenance, repairs, testing, and inspection of building mechanical and electrical services, plant and equipment in accordance with standards.
- Provide 24/7 service around the year and cover absent colleagues as required.
- Perform safe working practices and maintain statutory, NHS, Trust and company guidelines.
- Maintain, service and repair building services such as heating, domestic water, lighting, power, air‑handling units, low‑voltage electrical distribution, emergency standby generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, electrical control systems, and Building Management System.
- Keep accurate service records and reports.
- Carry out installation, upgrading or adaptation work as needed.
- Assist other skilled trades with maintenance and installation.
- Undertake additional training to develop skills and act as Competent or Authorised Person under demand.
- Participate in shift pattern to provide 24/7/365 service, cover for absent colleagues, undertake overtime when required.
- Carry out any other duties commensurate with grade.
Qualified time‑served engineer with at least 3 years of post‑apprenticeship experience. Healthcare experience desirable but not essential. Cross‑trade experience advantageous.
