Role Description This full-time, on-site role in Leeds involves working as part of a team of plant mechanics, welders, and fitters to maintain, repair, and service heavy equipment and industrial machinery. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical faults, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and carrying out repairs on hydraulic, mechanical, and structural components. The role will require welding and fabrication work, fitting replacement parts, and ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Team members will follow established safety procedures, complete maintenance records, and collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet project deadlines. The position is based in the workshop and on client sites as required, and may involve occasional overtime to support operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair of plant and industrial machinery.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Preventive Maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Candidates should possess skills in working with Heavy Equipment, including safe operation and handling.
  • Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and structural issues.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, welding, or fitting is beneficial.
  • Experience in plant maintenance, fabrication, or industrial engineering environments is preferred.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, follow safety standards, and use hand and power tools confidently.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
