The development offers residents a range of high-end communal amenities, so presentation, attention to detail and customer service are just as important as your technical maintenance skills. The role Working as part of the onsite maintenance team, you'll carry out a mixture of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the development. Day to day, this will include:
General repairs and maintenance across apartments and communal areas Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and building maintenance Responding to reactive maintenance requests from residents Carrying out preventative maintenance and regular building inspections Supporting fire, health & safety and emergency lighting checks Completing pre-move-in checks and scheduled apartment inspections Apartment turnaround works and redecoration Identifying defects and maintenance requirements during building patrols Logging and monitoring maintenance jobs through the relevant systems Liaising with and supporting third-party contractors when required Helping ensure the building remains safe, presentable and well maintained The position is genuinely resident-facing, with the successful person expected to communicate professionally with residents and help resolve maintenance and service requests promptly.
What we're looking for You don't necessarily need to be a specialist in one particular trade. We're looking for a good all-round Maintenance Operative who is practical, reliable and comfortable dealing with residents. Ideally, you'll have:
Previous general/building maintenance experience Hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry or similar repairs Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability Strong customer service and communication skills A proactive, can-do approach Good attention to detail The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player Basic IT skills for logging and updating maintenance jobs
Experience with in residential property would be advantageous, as would qualifications such as 18th Edition, IOSH or NVQ Level 2 Plumbing, but these are desirable rather than essential. The package Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours:
40 hours per week, 5 days Some Saturday and public holiday working will be required as part of the rota. This would suit someone currently working as a Maintenance Operative, Maintenance Technician, Handyperson, Multi-Skilled Operative, Fabric Technician or Building Maintenance Engineer who wants to work at a quality residential development as part of a well-established onsite team.
