Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to oversee commercial steel building projects from concept to completion. This role involves estimating, pricing, scheduling, and managing multiple construction projects while coordinating field staff, subcontractors, and customers. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating with a team of project managers.

Responsibilities

+ Manage 3-5 commercial construction projects simultaneously from award through closeout.

+ Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines.

+ Coordinate and oversee field staff, subcontractors, and vendors.

+ Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.

+ Resolve project issues proactively to keep work on schedule and within budget.

+ Prepare accurate project estimates, budgets, and pricing proposals.

+ Review plans, specifications, and scope documents to determine labor, materials, and timelines.

+ Support bid preparation and client pricing discussions.

+ Track job costs and adjust projections as projects progress.

+ Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.

+ Communicate schedules, progress updates, and change orders clearly and professionally.

+ Collaborate with internal teams including other Project Managers and leadership.

+ Maintain and enforce company safety standards on all job sites.

+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal construction regulations.

+ Promote a strong safety culture with field teams and subcontractors.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in commercial construction project management, preferably steel buildings.

+ Strong estimating and cost analysis experience.

+ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently.

+ Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

+ Proficiency with construction project management and estimating software.

+ Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Background in pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) or structural steel construction.

+ Experience managing commercial projects across multiple states.

+ Familiarity with scheduling, cost tracking, and change order management.

Work Environment

The role is office-based in Lee's Summit, MO, with regular travel to active job sites. You will work with a collaborative team of 7 Project Managers, enjoying autonomy over assigned projects. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.

Medium sized company with standard benefits. Company vehicle/vehicle allowance.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Lees Summit,MO.
