Superintendent – Sports Construction (Traveling)

Love construction? Love being in the field? Don't mind being on the road?

We're looking for hands-on construction professionals who want to help build some of the country's premier athletic facilities, from football and soccer fields to baseball complexes and sports venues throughout the Midwest and South. If you're the type who prefers dirt, concrete, grading, and problem-solving over sitting behind a desk, keep reading.

This role requires significant travel. If you're looking to be home every night, this isn't the opportunity for you. If you're excited by seeing different parts of the country, managing unique projects, and being part of a tight-knit team, you'll fit right in.

Compensation
  • Base Salary: $85,000 - $125,000+ Project Performance Bonuses
  • Annual Bonus Potential (typically $10K-$15K)
  • Company Truck Provided
  • Per Diem Available (for those who prefer to manage their own lodging and travel arrangements)
What You'll Be Building

This is primarily heavy civil, earthwork, grading, concrete, asphalt, drainage, and site development work with very little vertical construction.

  • Football fields
  • Soccer complexes
  • Baseball facilities
  • Golf courses
  • Athletic venues
Position Overview
  • Projects typically last 8-12 weeks
  • Most projects are located throughout the Midwest and South
  • Expect to travel project-to-project throughout the year
  • The company attempts to get employees home approximately every 30 days for up to 4 days
  • Some Superintendents travel with RVs or campers, while others utilize hotels or Airbnbs
  • You'll generally manage 4-5 projects annually
  • Weather shutdowns during winter months may occur and employees remain paid during downtime
What You'll Be Doing
  • Running projects from start to finish in the field
  • Managing crews of 4-8 employees
  • Coordinating site operations, scheduling, and production
  • Overseeing grading, earthwork, concrete, gravel, asphalt, and site preparation
  • Working closely with Project Managers to keep projects on track
  • Solving problems in real time and making critical field decisions
  • Ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are met
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of Superintendent experience preferred
  • Strong construction background
  • Experience with concrete, earthwork, civil, sitework, grading, or heavy construction is highly valued
  • Comfortable leading crews and working in a hands-on environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively
  • Familiarity with Procore and Excel is a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish is a bonus
Why People Stay

This company has built a reputation around doing what they say they're going to do. The culture is team-oriented, family-focused, and built around supporting the field staff that keeps projects moving. You'll work alongside experienced leaders, participate in regular Superintendent meetings, and have opportunities to move between sports and golf projects as your career grows.

  • Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Holidays + PTO
  • Company Vehicle
  • Winter Pay During Weather Shutdown Periods

If you're a Superintendent who enjoys being in the field, likes seeing projects through from dirt work to finished product, and is open to a travel-heavy lifestyle, this is a unique opportunity to build some of the most recognizable athletic facilities in the country while earning strong compensation and bonus potential.

Travel is required. Leadership opportunities are real. The work is hands-on. And no two projects are the same.
