The Customer Service Representative, under the supervision of the Customer Service Supervisor, assists customers with obtaining service, resolution of customer account inquiries and maintains customer accounts in the Customer Information System (CIS). This position is the primary contact for customer service, inquiries and complaints related to the services provided by the Water Utilities Department. This position also is responsible for processing and collecting payment transactions both in person and electronically.

$20.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required and
  • Three years of customer service experience or utility billing required
Necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be proficient with MS Office products;
    Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Must have excellent communication and listening skills and able to document account interactions thoroughly and accurately
  • Must be detailed oriented and complete work with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to effectively manage stressful situations with difficult customers and to resolve complex customer problems and conflicts
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the public, peers and management
  • Ability to learn and articulate city ordinances and departmental policies to customers
