The job of Teacher Elementary Title I Achievement and Behavior Support is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as an elementary teacher with specific responsibility for directing and providing services to identified Title I students in an elementary school setting; facilitating the full participation of Title students in the academic program through individualized planning;
collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional programs, behavioral plans and student progress.
- Administers assessments, district and/or state tests, etc. for the purpose of accessing Title I student competency levels, developing individual learning plans and/or individual behavior plans.
- Administers instructional program for the purpose of improving student success in academics through a defined course of study.
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of Title I student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations, behavioral goals and students’ achievements; and developing methods of improvement and/or reinforcing classroom expectations in the home environment.
- Analyzes test data and plans instructional responses for the purpose of enhancing student achievement.
- Assesses student progress towards objectives, grade level expectations and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, administration and/or seeking the assistance of district specialists.
- Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, and a variety of community resources (e.g. PTA, business partners, etc.) for the purpose of improving the overall quality of Title I student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan.
- Counsels Title I students and seeks appropriate resources for the purpose of improving academic and behavioral performance.
- Creates student behavioral and academic plans for the purpose of supporting Title I student learning.
- Demonstrates support for building and district initiatives for the purpose of maximizing a collaborative approach to the District's goals and objectives.
- Directs paraprofessionals, volunteers and/or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective learning environment and addressing the needs of individual Title I students.
- Facilitates daily monitoring of Title I student achievement and learner behaviors for the purpose of ensuring student academic success.
- Facilitates Title I student learning for the purpose of achieving success in academic, interpersonal and daily living skills through defined lesson and behavior plans.
- Maintains a variety of confidential and non confidential manual and electronic files and records for the purpose of providing up to date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment and is in adherence with district policies.
- Models appropriate behaviors and responsibility for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
- Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Participates in a variety of meetings as assigned by administrator or district personnel (e.g. PLC, staff, PTA, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. behavior plans, grades, attendance, progress reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements.
- Provides direct services to Title I students for the purpose of supporting students whose behaviors significantly interfere with their academic growth in the core content areas.
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. other teachers, students, parents, administrators, etc.) for the purpose of resolving issues, providing information and/or direction.
Performs other related duties for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
