Location: Lee's Summit

School paraprofessional substitute opportunities are available for compassionate, adaptable individuals seeking meaningful work in educational settings near Lees Summit, MO. As an Instructional Aide in this flexible per diem role, you'll provide critical 1:1 support to students, helping them succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially within a positive learning environment. Shifts are offered on an as-needed basis, allowing you to tailor your schedule to your availability while playing a vital role in the school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer academic and behavioral support to students in classrooms
  • Provide individualized or small-group assistance as guided by educators
  • Assist with daily routines, transitions, and encourage active classroom participation
  • Follow behavior intervention plans and implement IEPs where required
  • Support student mobility, general supervision, and personal care
  • Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere for learning
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Either an active Para Pro or Substitute Teaching certification, or 36 college credits
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to meet school health and safety policies, such as a current TB test
  • Physical capacity to stand, walk, and assist with student mobility as needed
  • Current clearances, or commitment to obtain them before working
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous work in schools, special education, childcare, or behavioral health
  • Familiarity with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
  • CPI, PMT, or RBT training is a plus (but not mandatory)
  • Reliable, patient, and collaborative attitude
