Job Summary
The Preschool Aide on the Apostle Catholic Church supports lead teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered learning environment for preschool-aged children. This role assists with daily classroom activities, promotes social and emotional development, and helps foster age-appropriate learning experiences while reflecting Catholic values and traditions.
Job Responsibilities- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities.
- Support students in academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development.
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and educational resources.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, meals, and transitions.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Reinforce classroom rules, routines, and behavioral expectations.
- Assist with arts and crafts, storytelling, music, and other age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Provide individual and small-group support to students as needed.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student needs and progress.
- Support school events, religious celebrations, and special programs.
- Adhere to school, parish, and Archdiocesan policies and procedures.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational, childcare, or volunteer setting preferred.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, parents, and students.
- Patience, reliability, and a nurturing approach to working with young children.
- Basic organizational and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Completion of required Safe Environment training and background screening.
- Ability to supervise and assist young children in a classroom setting.
- Ability to lift, carry, and assist children and classroom materials as needed.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Compliance with all school, parish, and Archdiocesan policies and procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive, and faith-centered learning environment.
