Role Summary

The Scheduler will complete increasingly complex activities to prepare project schedules. Responsibilities include visiting job sites to review status, drafting, updating and reviewing project schedules, and mentoring co‑workers. All activities support JE Dunn's strategy, vision and values.

Key Responsibilities – Core
  • Prepare, build and update project schedules collaboratively.
  • Perform schedule reviews to ensure effective best practices and communicate comments diplomatically.
  • Participate in all phases of construction planning & scheduling: proposal schedules, baseline schedule, ongoing updates.
  • Use JE Dunn scheduling software.
  • Assist with training: content preparation and delivery.
  • Develop best practices for planning and scheduling.
  • Visit job sites to review status and apply sequencing knowledge to update schedules.
  • Attend project or job‑site meetings focused on schedule.
  • Support Lean and Pull Planning sessions to align CPM schedules with pull plans.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Add resource and cost loading to schedules when needed.
  • Provide scheduling support to operations, marketing and other IPS functions.
  • Incorporate market and regional information (weather, material, labor, etc.) into schedules.
  • Participate in pursuit opportunities with business development.
Key Responsibilities – Additional Core
  • Conduct detailed critical path analysis and root cause analysis for problem projects.
  • Assist teams with schedule sequencing, construction methods, delays, impacts, alternate work plans, and recovery schedules.
  • Facilitate planning and scheduling training for internal members.
  • Participate in job pre‑planning, post‑construction, and monthly status review meetings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Accurate and timely work performance.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software.
  • Advanced reading of plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Intermediate understanding of schedule sequencing and improvement opportunities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of construction management methods, scheduling software implementation, various project types, delivery methods.
  • Intermediate knowledge of scheduling concepts, best practices, Lean philosophy.
  • Ability to import schedules into JE Dunn's standard scheduling software.
  • Collaborative relationship building.
  • Effective teamwork internally and externally.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred).
  • Equivalent relevant experience considered.
Experience
  • 3+ years planning and scheduling experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation.
  • Willingness to work non‑traditional hours.
  • Normal office environment with exposure to extreme conditions.
  • Typical activities:
    Sitting, viewing computer screen; occasional standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling.
