Overview
Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. Full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families. Activities include one‑on‑one counseling, consultations with commanders or staff, briefings and presentations, and referral resources.
Works closely with installation and branch points of contact to ensure program scope and meet installation needs.
Responsibilities- Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
- Assist with spending plans for extended absences.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
- Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle (arrival at duty station, pre/post deployment, and other events outlined in DoDI 1322.34).
- Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes as authorized (web‑based, secure chat, video‑teleconference).
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues.
- Participate in in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience considered).
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizen, fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Certifications:
AFC, CFP, or ChFC.
- Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500 (adjusted based on qualifications).
- Eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
