Senior Accountant​/Financial Analyst

• Prepares in-depth financial analyses and research to support management decisions and financial reports
• Analyzes financial implications of business decisions on results
• Researches and interprets financial data using advanced financial techniques
• Develops financial models for business initiatives
• Collaborates with departments on financial consequences of actions
• Supports internal and external auditors by preparing analytical schedules
• Develops and documents system changes or upgrades
• Prepares complex journal entries and participates in month-end procedures
• Performs employee benefit accounting and reporting
• Balances insurance company Annual Statement supplemental schedules with regulators

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
• Experience as a Financial Analyst/Accountant or similar position
• Preparing and developing financial reports
• Using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems
• Preparing, analyzing and interpreting in-depth analyses of financial and/or statistical data
• Model development and manipulation using Microsoft Office products
• Financial reporting including financial statement preparation, review, and analysis
• Applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles
• Preparing complex journal entries
• Preparing complex account analysis and general ledger reconciliations
• High-level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

Demonstrates expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and model development, with a strong foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles. Proficient in preparing complex journal entries and conducting detailed account analysis to support management decisions.
