Financial Manager
Ten years of exempt accounting experience is required .
Two years of healthcare financial experience is preferred.
Five years of management or supervisory experience is required .
Directs the fiscal functions of the parent corporation Premier Life, as well as all the subsidiary companies in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable regulations. Oversees treasury, accounting, budget, billing/collection, tax and audit activities of the organization and subsidiaries. Oversees financial and accounting system controls and standards and ensures timely financial and statistical reports for management and/or Board use.
Supportive of the Village’s mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations. Completes training as required by policy.
- Directs preparation and distribution of financial statements, business activity reports and reports required by regulatory agencies, for all related organizations, including consolidations as necessary. Reviews/designs all processes related to financial statement preparation. Prepares journal entries as necessary. Reviews financial results and prepare analysis.
- Participates as a member of the Service Team as needed. Attends regularly scheduled meetings. Provides financial perspective to team discussions.
- Prepares all financial projections and proformas for the organization, including on-going reviews, new project analysis, and all financial information for bond issues. Gathers data related to project details, costs, revenue and expenses. Prepares projections and proformas to enable decisions on project feasibility. Helps facilitate and complete financing transactions, working with bond counsel, underwriter, development consultants, etc.
- Directs and coordinates all aspects of the annual financial audit, tax return and cost report preparation. Schedules and coordinates audit fieldwork. Prepares or reviews reconciliation and analysis as necessary. Reviews all adjustments, management recommendations and reports.
- Directs preparation of the organization’s budgets, including preparation of all worksheets for completion by managers, consolidation of all input and distribution budget details. Develops budget format, worksheets and schedule. Coordinates completion of worksheets by managers and review by executive staff. Prepares overall organization budget, including analysis and reports for managers, executive staff and the board.
- Directs, through the accounting staff, all organization accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, debt activity, capital fixed assets activity, and property taxes. Develops/reviews all processes. Coordinates and communicates procedures. Analyzes complex issues for recommendation/resolution.
- Oversees the finance/payroll data processing systems and analyzes/recommends data processing alternatives.
- Directs, through the Billing Manager, all billing and collection functions. Develops/reviews all processes. Coordinates and communicates procedures. Analyzes complex issues for recommendation/resolution.
- Oversees tax abatement program and related reporting.
- Responsible for the day-to-day cash management of the organizations and the projection of future cash needs.
- Develop policies, procedures and objectives for department.
- Interviews, selects and recommends to HR the hiring of department associates.
- Counsels department associates, as needed. Provides corrective action and recommends to HR the termination of associates when necessary, documenting and coordinating actions with HR. Sets performance goals, monitors and assesses performance of associates
- Provides effective leadership and management of quality, safety, risk management and compliance programs and initiatives that achieve measurable results to prevent and mitigate loss to the organization.
- Adheres to all safety regulations and requirements.
- Handles stress well and gets along with others within the workplace and with customers outside the department.
- Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Accounting.
Licenses/Certifications:
- A Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Advanced keyboarding skills required.
- Advanced knowledge and skill using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word required. Intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint required.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices required.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and project modeling required.
