Job Summary

The Events and Hospitality Manager is responsible for overseeing exceptional guest experiences and managing the various hospitality services within and around the facility. The role ensures the highest level of guest satisfaction through effective management of hospitality operations and events at Paragon Star, including hiring and supervising staff, event creation, planning, and other related functions. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for designing, organizing, and executing various events, from small gatherings to large‑scale events. Serve as the point of contact for vendors on event day.
  • Design and produce events from scratch, crafting fresh concepts that align with audience and brand goals.
  • Manage all aspects of events, including venue selection, vendor coordination, budgeting, marketing, and on‑site logistics.
  • Assist in hiring and management of hospitality staff, ensuring proper training, staff development, and recommendations for discipline and termination.
  • Manage employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Work with facilities and sports management to plan hospitality services concurrent with practice, tournaments, and events and obtain any necessary permits.
  • Establish and maintain standards for customer service and guest experience.
  • Manage concession stand, ensuring it remains clean and orderly.
  • Perform and oversee day‑to‑day duties such as opening and closing, taking orders, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Manage and maintain appropriate inventory levels of all food, beverage, and cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure high‑quality service, effective cost management, and guest satisfaction.
  • Enforce health and safety rules.
  • Monitor and adjust the concessions menu based on consumer trends.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date Serv Safe and food handlers licenses for hospitality staff.
  • Track and update all appropriate liquor licenses.
  • Manage relationships and financials with outside food and beverage vendors.
  • Work with supervisor and the accounting staff to manage food, beverage, and events financial reporting.
  • Manage concession area maintenance, including seating areas adjacent to the concession stand.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • 3+ years of proven experience in hospitality management or a related field.
  • Event management experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle a fast‑paced environment under pressure.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with strong listening abilities.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Strong leadership or proven team‑management abilities.
  • Strong time‑management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and implement complex policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event schedules.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry trends, best practices, and regulations.
Physical Requirements

The job requires the employee to work in an open‑air sports complex and to perform the majority of duties while sitting, standing, walking, squatting/stooping, bending, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. The position demands manual labor and tasks performed on your feet for long periods and exposure to all weather conditions, high noise levels, and the need for hearing protection.
