# Sand & Gravel Plant/River Maintenance Capital Sand

- Wardsville, MOCapital Sand Company is looking to fill a grounds maintenance position that will include sand and gravel plant and river operations responsibilities located at our Wardsville, Missouri sand plant.
** RESPONSIBILITIES
* ** Operate sand and gravel processing equipment.
* Perform general maintenance on processing equipment, replacing bearings, replacing conveyor idlers, splicing conveyor belts, cutting, welding, fabrication, ect.
* Safely operate front-end loader, excavator, haul truck, and water truck.
* Perform general maintenance of heavy equipment; greasing, changing cutting edges, changing oil, maintaining maintenance logs, ect.
* Perform pre-shift inspections of heavy equipment and processing equipment.
* Participates in safety training, drills, and meetings to ensure overall equipment and crew safety.
* Observe and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
* Suggest corrective action to improve plant and equipment performance and assist with implementation.
* Work in a constate state of alertness and in a safe manner.
* Frequent standing, walking, bending over, climbing, reaching overhead, kneeling, balancing, pushing, or pulling, talking/communication, repetitive use of legs, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 75 lbs.
* Performs other duties as directed.## Qualifications
** REQUIREMENTS:
*** Knowledge of the practices and techniques applied to the safe operation of heavy equipment, including record keeping of equipment.
* Lift/Move up to 50 lbs.
* Valid driver’s license (preferred)
* Must have reliable transportation.
* Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Must be willing to work overtime.
* Ability to read and understand the English language.
* Not afraid of working on/around water.
* Training or working knowledge of MSHA is a plus.
* Welding experience is a plus.
* Mechanical experience is a plus.
* Some travel is required.
* Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
