About This Position

You will be responsible for the daily management and strategy of Keefe dedicated fleets, including daily execution and service, safety, invoicing, financial performance, and related vendor management. You will manage dedicated fleet performance. You will partner with operations, sales, customer service, and vendors to resolve escalations. You will evaluate fleet financial performance and leads dedicated fleet RFPs. Additionally, it identifies opportunities to improve cost, service, and backhaul revenue.

You will work onsite and remote. You will report to the Senior Director of Transportation and Indirect Procurement.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

  • Manage performance of all 11 dedicated fleets, including serving as the contact and dotted-line manager for dedicated fleet manager-routers.
  • Respond to daily escalations from sales, customer service, operations, and dedicated fleet vendor partners.
  • Evaluate fleet financial performance and recommend expansion or contraction based on cost-per-hundredweight performance versus over-the-road rates.
  • Lead RFPs for expiring dedicated fleet contracts and new fleet locations, including gathering operational and sales inputs, establishing modeling parameters, reviewing financial submissions, and recommending solutions.
  • Conduct weekly or bi-weekly meetings with operations and local dedicated fleet contacts to review indicators such as cost-per-hundredweight, and on-time delivery.
  • Complete monthly allocation of vehicle expense and report out to Accounts Payable and Finance.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related business field;
    Master's degree or equivalent education preferred.
  • Ten or more years of related transportation, supply chain, fleet management, purchasing, or logistics experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lead RFP processes, evaluate financial submissions, and recommend transportation solutions based on operational and financial analysis.
  • Analyze business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, routing process documentation.
  • Present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, vendors, and the general public.
  • Can apply percentages, ratios, proportions, probability, and statistical concepts to practical business situations.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions involving multiple variables.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions) skills.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization, from entry-level operations team members to executive leadership.
  • Develop talent, including vendor-employed fleet manager-routers.
  • Cultivate partnership throughout the organization, with customers, and with vendors.
  • Evaluate operational and financial performance using indicators such as cost-per-hundredweight, on-time delivery, safety metrics, and backhaul revenue.
  • Manage recurring meetings, reporting cycles, invoicing, and expense allocation.
