Mold Technician - Blow Molding Tooling Repair (1st Shift) | Summary
- Location:
Lee's Summit, MO (Kansas City metro, Jackson County) - Schedule:
Mon-Fri, 6:30am-3:00pm; first shift - Pay: $23-30/hr, hourly non-exempt
- Industry: Blow molding tooling for consumer, medical, household, food/beverage, chemical, motor oil containers
- Perform mold maintenance and repair using manual tools and shop machines
- Assemble, fit, and inspect mold components and subassemblies
- Use precision instruments (calipers, micrometers) to verify specs
- Read and interpret blueprints and part drawings
- Identify and implement improvements to repair processes
- Support shop productivity and equipment uptime
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures
- Share technical knowledge and collaborate with the team
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 2-3+ years using hand tools in a technical or mechanical setting
- Experience operating shop machinery and basic machining operations
- Strong mechanical aptitude and solid math skills
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet
- Detail focused; quality and safety mindset
- Comfortable in a hands-on manufacturing environment
- Experience with blow molding tooling (EBM, ISBM, IBM)
- Basic milling, turning, polishing, or EDM exposure
- OSHA 10, Lockout/Tagout knowledge, overhead crane/hoist or forklift experience
- Hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, polishers
- Precision metrology: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators
- Basic manual mill/lathe operations; bench work; deburr and polish
- Manufacturing shop; PPE provided; moderate noise
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting to 50 lbs
