SUMMARYThe Production Planner Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing processes s position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules that align with customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity. The role works closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to optimize resource allocation, minimize downtime, and ensure timely delivery of products. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication are essential to support operational efficiency and maintain high-quality standards.
Ultimately, the Production Planner Scheduler contributes to the overall success of the supply chain by ensuring production targets are met in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in demand or unexpected delays.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and support process improvements.
- Communicate production status updates and resolve scheduling conflicts effectively.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and production planning software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Frequent use of hands for typing, handling paperwork, and operating computer systems.
- Primarily office-based role with regular exposure to manufacturing and warehouse environments.
- Exposure to fluctuating temperatures, noise, and occasional dust when on the production floor.
- May require occasional walking, standing, or light lifting while supporting operations.
- Must adhere to OSHA or Cal/OSHA safety standards and all company safety policies.
