SummaryThe Welder is responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks to support manufacturing and maintenance operations. This role ensures that all welding work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and production requirements.
The Welder will work with various materials and equipment to assemble, repair, and maintain metal components, contributing to overall operational efficiency and product quality.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to complete fabrication work; cut, grind, and prepare materials for welding and assembly.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Repair and maintain metal structures, equipment, and components as needed.
- Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to meet operational goals.
- Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns.
- Assist with general fabrication and shop duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of welding safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Stand for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift).
- Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to heat, sparks, fumes, and loud industrial environments.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
- Work near moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment.
