Assembler, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Job Description

The Assembler is responsible for assembling/un-assembling and testing company product. This position may specialize in particular products or processes. The Assembler follows all work area related processes and procedures to assemble/un-assemble units, utilizing hand tools, small power equipment, microscopes, and other special equipment/fixtures. The Assembler is required to complete paperwork fully, accurately, and timely and practice good housekeeping.

• Assemble/un-assemble a wide range of products using drawings, work instructions, and tests to performance specifications.
• Work cross-functionally within the department – testing troubleshooting equipment.
• Complete required documentation.
• Wire equipment.
• Utilize the inventory management System‑Kanban, cycle counting, physical inventory.
• Perform material handling, receiving and stocking of materials and sales coordination.
• Adhere to facility safety and health requirements; wear prescribed PPE.
• Maintain work area, tools and/or equipment, and machines.
• Maintain focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USA principles/techniques and make process improvement recommendations to management.

High School Diploma (or GED) required.

• One (1) year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of electronics and mechanics.
• Electrical wiring experience preferred.
• Good manufacturing operations knowledge and practices.
• Computer experience required.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, and teamwork skills.
• Good decision‑making skills.
• Ability to maintain high productivity on repetitive tasks while working in a fast‑paced environment.

• Frequently (34% - 66%) required to bend, squat, twist/turn, and walk, and constantly (67% - 100%) required to talk, hear, reach outward, stand, and grasp with hands. Occasionally (1% - 33%) required to climb, crawl, reach above shoulder, sit, and type.
• The employee must carry up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally and push and pull up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities: concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus.

• Plant Conditions (100%).

• Computer, saws/drills, measuring tools (Vernier calipers, scale, micrometer, hand tools, fork truck, gauges, rivet gun, pneumatic tools).
