Lawler Gear is currently seeking experienced CNC Lathe and/or Mill Machinists. The CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist will produce machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC machine while maintaining quality, safety standards, records, and equipment.

• Set up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. This includes aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto the machine.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during lathe or milling operations.
• Measure, examine or test completed parts for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometer, calipers, or other measuring instruments.
• Document actions by completing required paperwork (Inspection documents, Travelers). Perform minor mechanical and assembly work as needed.
• Must possess their own tools and be willing to multitask and cross‑train on all machines, as required.
• Share expertise and knowledge throughout the machine shop.
• Always follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma/GED.
• Minimum of 2 years machining experience with advanced knowledge of manual or CNC lathe and/or milling machining operations and tolerances.
• Must understand basic math and geometric tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering plans, procedure manuals and work instructions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have a positive, “can do” attitude.
• Motivated, self‑starter, must take on new roles and responsibilities as needed.

This is a full‑time, day shift position (40 hours per week, onsite) based in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with a flexible work schedule that can be four 10‑hour days (Monday‑Thursday, 6:30am‑5:00pm) or four 9‑hour days (Monday‑Thursday, 7:30am‑5:00pm) and a 4‑hour day (Friday 8:00am‑12:00pm). Hours may occasionally vary based on production scheduling and business needs.
