Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safe Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
    Assist with routine and non‑routine plant sanitation activities, ensuring equipment is clean and food‑safe.
  • Product Handling, Quality Control & Inventory Management:
    Follow plant policies for placing materials on hold and collecting retention samples, assist with chemical inventory control following FIFO practices.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation Compliance:
    Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, and company food safety policies; maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Team Collaboration, Leadership & Training:
    Assist team members, adapt to operational changes, and contribute to productivity, safety, and quality goals.
  • Documentation, Communication & Continuous Improvement:
    Prepare accurate written documentation and participate in 5S efforts.
Knowledge, Training & Experience
  • Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing or food production sanitation preferred; 18+ years of age.
  • Technical & Mechanical

    Skills:

    Operate, troubleshoot, and advise on minor adjustments to formulas or processes; mechanical aptitude; proficiency in SAP, hand scanners, basic math; advanced levels require proficiency in MII, WE systems, and interpreting line huddle measures to resolve issues.
  • Computer Literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of GMPs, SQF, HACCP, FSMA; commitment to company safety policies and procedures; ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push heavy loads, stand/walk up to 90% of shift, climb as needed; visual acuity, color perception, full range of hand/arm movement.
  • Teamwork, Communication & Leadership: Effectively communicate with co‑workers, supervisors, and others; understand oral, written, and safety information; work independently and collaboratively; provide training, guidance, and feedback; advanced levels lead projects with minimal supervision.
  • Personal Attributes & Work Ethic: Positive attitude, dependable, self‑motivated, willing to work overtime or weekends as needed; strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, multitasking in a fast‑paced environment; accountability for work quality, attendance, and continuous improvement.
  • Physical Demands: Stand and walk for extended periods; frequent climbing, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, stooping; lift up to 50 lbs; good hand‑eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 corrected vision; hearing and vision with correction; distinguish colors; PPE required; adherence to safety policies; exposure to wet, humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high areas, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical risks, vibrations;

    report food safety or quality issues immediately to management.
