Job Responsibilities- Assist employees in their work and assist with training operators in work instructions on material handling equipment (tuggers, carts MRM, scanners, etc.), material handler duties and responsibilities, and material flow in the plant.
- Maintain flow rack identification on the floor as well as locations for carts. Correction of any loading errors in the line physically and in the system.
- Maintain lines with zero downtime due to waiting on parts.
- Support and maintain routes established and look for improvements.
- Evaluate performance of material handlers.
- Responsible for the delivery of parts to the line and report any disruptions to the Material Handling Area Leader.
- Perform and lead cycle counts for line side inventory.
- Perform daily audits of work area for 5S and safety check list for equipment, and report all issues found to Area Leader.
- Communicate issues to Area Leader or Department Manager.
- Fosters positive working relationships with all personnel in the division.
- Recommends proposals for improving products, processes, systems and work environment through the continuous improvement process and encourages employees to participate in the process as well.
- Collects data and fills out reports as necessary to achieve departmental objectives.
- Fill in for operators that need to temporarily leave the line.
- Leads by example to other employees by attendance, good work performance and displaying positive behaviors.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to obtain a forklift license.
- Ability to drive tuggers.
- Ability to use tablet devices, scanners and printers for barcode labels.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to set direction and make decisions.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.
- Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groups.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
