Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $33.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and planned maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, testing, and process improvements.
  • Assist with machine setup, equipment modifications, and rebuilds to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and update records in CMMS systems and Kronos.
  • Follow all safety protocols, GMPs, and food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Support spare parts organization and inventory.
  • Conduct millwright activities (cutting, grinding, welding, fabrication) and fabricate components as needed.
  • Operate and maintain production equipment, including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and packaging machinery.
  • Assist in performing preventive maintenance and minor modifications on machinery such as packaging equipment and HVAC systems.
  • Mentor and train Maintenance Mechanics Level1, operators, and production employees on equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience, preferably in manufacturing or food production.
  • 18+ years of age.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with GMPs, SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and OSHA standards.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction and perform accurate math functions.
  • Familiarity with GMPs, electrical safety, lock‑out/tag‑out, and safe lifting techniques.
  • Willingness to obtain forklift certification (required for Advanced Level); certification preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment and basic fabrication (cutting, grinding, welding).
  • Knowledge of automated systems such as PLC‑based controls.
  • Proficiency in advanced software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP) for documentation and reporting.
Physical Demands

Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, climb, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach, twist, turn, and stoop. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Good hand‑eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 corrected vision, normal hearing, and ability to distinguish colors for color‑coded containers. Must wear required PPE and adhere to all safety policies.
