Position Summary / Career Interest: Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs technical skills under the direction of the nurse.

• Assist with appropriate patient care and interventions as delegated by the nurse
• Report outcomes and changes in patient condition to the nurse
• Collaborate with the nurse in the plan of care
• Report observations regarding effectiveness of intervention to the nurse
• Communicate effectively with patient, family, physicians, and health care team
• Apply safety and infection control measures
• Documentation of patient care provided in the clinical record
• Continuing education as assigned
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department

• Actively enrolled in a professional nursing education program and has completed a fundamentals of nursing course

• High School Graduate or GED
• Less than 1 year recent experience in an acute care setting

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
