Role Overview

Full time Night Shift 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, 3-4 weekend shifts per 6‑week cycle. Benefits Eligible.

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is an acute‑care hospital in St. Louis County offering a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women & infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound, and pain management services. It has a 24‑hour adult emergency department and a pediatric emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Critical Care includes three 10‑bed intensive care units providing general medical‑surgical, coronary and neuro‑intensive care. The multidisciplinary team is available 24/7.

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of standards of nursing care.

• Promote patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post‑treatment home‑care needs and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage in professional development.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family or caregiver, following established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• Proactively plan and ensure communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.
• Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotions, spirituality, culture, and population‑specific needs.
• Work in a constant state of alertness as this is a safety‑sensitive position.
