• $15K SOB eligible
• 12-hour day shifts, full-time position
• 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

Acute Internal Medicine Registered Nurses provide high-quality care for patients experiencing acute medical conditions, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely and effective treatment. The Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is a leading academic medical center known for nursing excellence.

• Promote patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in professional development.
• Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver.
• Proactively plan and communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including cultural and population-specific needs.
• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of alertness is essential.
