American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a 240-bed community hospital, requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience and the ability to titrate cardiac drips.
Details- 13-week contract at a 240-bed community hospital with a 16-bed ICU
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit with post-cath patient population
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, with shifts falling on any combination of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
- On-unit telemetry monitoring and titration of cardiac drips performed
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Free parking available
- Navy scrubs required
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand; both Kansas and Missouri licenses must be in hand prior to start due to floating requirements
- Current certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- Must have at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months, with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and titrating cardiac drips
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Provides nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients including post-cardiac catheterization cases
- Charge RN assignments may be required as needed per unit schedule
- Holiday shift coverage required as assigned
- RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
- 2 professional references required: one must be at supervisor level or above, the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year
- Pre-start compliance modules are required (approximately 10–15 hours total)
- Travel partners are not accepted for this position
