On the medical oncology service, a Medical Oncology Nurse collaborates within an inpatient oncology environment that mirrors the best of comprehensive cancer care, featuring board-certified physicians, advanced practice providers, certified nurses, and an experienced support staff that cares for you as a whole person, while delivering advanced therapies including Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Biotherapy, Hormone therapy, Targeted drug therapy, Treatments for anemia and clotting disorders, Bone Marrow Biopsy, Genetic Testing/Counseling, and Other systemic treatments.

Reporting to an Oncology Nurse Manager and collaborating closely with a Charge Nurse and Oncology Service Line Director, an RN Oncology receives robust clinical support from oncology pharmacists, specialist consults, and seasoned preceptors, while leading responsibilities that include the following:

• Safe administration of complex regimens
• Symptom management
• Central line care
• Rapid response readiness
• Survivorship education
• Care coordination with case management and social work
• Participation in quality improvement and shared governance alongside friendly nurses and a diverse, interdisciplinary team
