Job Description

RN Telemetry roles involve monitoring and assessing patients’ cardiac status, ensuring safety, and providing acute care in a specialized telemetry unit, with requirements for acute care experience, licensure, and certifications.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry
, you will:

• Monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, interpreting ECG data and identifying changes that require immediate intervention.
• Assess and manage patients with cardiac conditions, including acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, and other cardiovascular issues.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other specialists, to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families about cardiac care, medication management, and lifestyle changes.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and respond as needed.

Typical requirements include:

• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum 1–2 years of acute care hospital experience (some postings specify 2 years for full-time Resource Pool roles.
• Degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Appropriate certifications for telemetry (e.g., CCRN, cardiac monitoring certifications) as required by the facility.
• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
