Overview
Break Time Assistant Managers assist in the management and operations of a Break Time Convenience Store including managing the location in the Store Manager's absence, coaching and mentoring team members, and assisting with store finances, including helping to control expenses. Assistant Managers are energetic leaders who believe it only takes a moment to make your day better.

Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and encouraging the store team to do the same, consistently greeting and thanking each customer, and supporting peak hours.
- Assist in all aspects of store operation including daily reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, fuel management, cleanliness, timely opening and closing, and execution of food programs.
- Assist in executing marketing programs and merchandising activities, including pricing, promotions, and maintaining merchandise stock, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Assist in general operations, shift supervision in the absence of the manager, providing input for performance evaluation and disciplinary action, and training new employees on company policies and procedures.
- Maintain timely and professional communication with customers, vendors, other employees, and management regarding all aspects of store operations.
- Understand store finances, control merchandise and cash shortages, participate in audits, and help meet or exceed company goals for sales and controllable expenses.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop a successful team of associates that strive to meet customers' needs while promoting teamwork, compliance with regulations, and a positive work culture.
- Utilize the store's technology, including point of sale systems and handheld devices, to perform calculations, complete shift reports, and count product.
- All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. Employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Availability to work and/or support all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with adequate transportation to/from the bank.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
- Works well individually and in leading a team.
- Ability to perform assigned duties with accuracy and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for change, shift reports, and product accounting.
- Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and operate computer and office productivity machinery.
- Physical ability to move products in the cooler (30°F) and freezer (0°F) for up to one hour and to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to remain standing for up to nine hours per shift.
- Willingness to occasionally ascend and descend ladders.
- Ability to visually observe and inspect items and the work environment for safety concerns.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English to communicate accurately.
- Ability to meet company requirements, including a successful pre‑employment background check and drug test.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Prior management/leadership experience.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in retail sales.
