Overview
- Sells company products or services in assigned area or territory (including utility, industrial, etc.)
- Must learn, promote, and provide technical support for various lines of (e.g., fiber and communication products).
- Builds customer relationships to create new accounts and grow existing customer base to increase territory’s overall profitability.
- Promotes and sells products in compliance with company pricing policies to achieve maximum gross profit margin.
- Demonstrates products or services and provides assistance in the best application of products or services.
- Answers all questions concerning a product or service, with appropriate referrals where required.
- Closes transactions and takes orders.
- Submits time and expense reports to management.
- Investigates product/service warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies.
- Analyzes and interprets records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management.
- Contacts prospects and explains features and merits of products or services offered, utilizing persuasive sales techniques.
- Calculates and quotes prices.
- May coordinate company technical engineering support and services to ascertain customers' needs.
- Works with Director of regional sales and management to develop business plans, achieve sales goals and keep informed of local competition and market conditions.
- Continuously develops a strong understanding of products, features, and benefits to effectively support customer and business goals.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Effective negotiation skills with the ability to overcome adversity.
- High degree of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to focus, prioritize, multi-task and follow through on commitments.
- 5 years of experience in electrical or electrical distribution industry.
- 2 years in outside sales role in relevant industry.
- Proven success in building customer relationships through cold calling, networking, and prospecting.
- Solid computer skills in ERP and MS Office.
The expected rate of pay for this position starts at $40,000.00 annually. This position is also commission-eligible, based on meeting specific and relative business metrics.
